Eugenio F. Bird, M.D., is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the Florida Medical Association and Orange County Medical Society. He is an associate professor at Interamerican University School of Optometry in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Dr. Bird earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1980. He joined the army after graduation and attained the rank of Major in the U.S. Medical Corps with two decorations before receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1991. During his service he completed a surgical internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI, an Ophthalmology residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, CA, and a fellowship in Cornea/External Diseases & Refractive Surgery at Hermann Eye Center - University of Texas in Houston, TX. He was also the chairman of the Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Department at the Baynes Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, LA from 1987-9.
Dr. Bird has hospital privileges at Florida Hospital in Orlando and Winter Park Memorial Hospital in Winter Park.
